November 4 Week Wrap Up

It’s officially November, and I feel like this year is flying by.  How does that happen? It’s been a year of growth and self awareness so I don’t really have too much to complain about.

untitledSomething I Learned: In the 1960s, the CIA tried to spy on the Kremlin and Russian embassies by turning cats into listening devices. The program, called Acoustic Kitty, involved surgically implanting batteries, microphones and antennae inside cats.

Something about this just makes me giggle.  Really….cats?  Doesn’t anyone know those creatures answer to no one?  Picturing us spending what I’m sure was an exorbitant amount, on trying to get cats to follow some sort of direction cracks me up. You can try all you want to implant these devices in them, but those cats are going to go where they want to go. I can’t help but think all the CIA ended up with is noises from a kitchen or a cat playing in bag.

Fears: I’m scared for November 8 and 9. You can’t live in the U.S. and not feel the stress of this election.  I’m scared for the results.  I’m sure that no matter who wins that there will be an intense fall out.

exhaustedOne Thing I would Change: This mental exhaustion.  This week has been absolutely nuts, and I haven’t been able to fully put myself into a post. I just do not have the energy.

Something I’m Thankful for: I’m thankful for the weekend!  I need a serious relaxation weekend, and I’m thinking I might spend it with Netflix and friends.

Embarrassing Moment: I talk to myself all the time.  It’s a trait I learned from my mom. This week, I was busted talking to myself at work.  I was walking through the rest room, going over what I had to do, and I didn’t realize I was saying it out loud.  One of my coworkers caught me while I was walking around a corner just muttering to myself.  I must have looked insane. Lol.

0aba3993f1df477d2d5626f5bf09e2f0Loves: Fall television!  There’s something about it.  All my favorite shows are back on and even a few I’m checking out.  It’s a great way to unwind after work and just relax.  Of course, I watch on a lag.  I DVR everything and then watch it the next night.  There are only a few shows I refuse to miss on their initial airing.

What are you loving this week?

  2. I think I may find the cat-microphone thing as funny as you do. And it has definitely been an exhausting week – a good one! But exhausting. I feel you on the election stress. I’m hoping that we make the right choice, as a country, no matter what that choice is, but I know way too many people who’ve lost friends and family members over this election season. Hopefully some of that can be recovered.

  5. I’m Canadian and as much as I’m trying to ignore the election in the States it’s impossible and I’m scared too! But on a happier note I’m excited to start watching The Crown this weekend which just arrived on Netflix!

  6. This was a nice refreshing read. I feel like everything I read is someone telling you how to do this or don’t do that. I am loving this vegetable soup a made, even if the carrots and potatoes are still a little crunchy.

  7. I too can’t believe that we are getting close to the end of the year and so far my year has been so good as well. When it comes to the election results, I am really scared too as most of the news related to this election has been a bit worrying one.

  8. ElectionDay has never been such a weird day for me before either – it is a loose-loose situation, but at the same time, I am looking forward to it being over. This election cycle has drained me. I am sure everyone, no matter what side, feels drained at this point. Blessings!

  9. I will be glad when the election is over and can only hope everyone behaves themselves and acts like an adult. My husband talks to himself and lately it seems like more and I have started asking him who he is talking to.
