February 10 Weekly Wrap Up

Wow!  It’s been quite a while since I’ve been able to do one of these.  The last few month shave just flown by with work, family and friend responsibilities.  Summing up or reviewing my week has definitely fallen by the wayside. The holidays and then winter busy season really end up ruling my life beginning in November.  I won’t be working my normal schedule, both career wise and socially, until after April 15 at this point.

I should have quite a bit to go through since I haven’t done a wrap up since November, but I’m lucky if I can remember January, let alone two months worth of information. Haha.  Sometimes I feel like I’m lucky if I remember yesterday.  [I totally do by the way.  We had a big snow storm. I worked from home and marathoned Buffy the Vampire Slayer all day. It was fantastic.]

How cool is this?!

Something I Learned: An egg looks like a crazy jellyfish underwater. Kid you not…A cracked egg on land might make a big mess, but 60 feet below the surface of the ocean, the pressure on the egg is 2.8 times atmospheric pressure, and it holds it all together like an invisible egg shell.

I also learned that there is a study going on in Iceland regarding geothermal electricity. That’s right!  Our homes may be powered by volcanos.  With the depleting amounts of fossil fuel, I love the fact that the earth itself seems to have built in ways to continue our existence as we know it.   We currently use only 6 to 7 % of possible geothermal energy.  It really blows my mind that there are so many different options out there, but we’re only focused on one.  (http://www.livescience.com/57833-scientists-drill-volcano-core-geothermal-energy.html)

Fears: I have a deep fear of being stranded and unable to get home.  I live on a one-way street, and I swear when it snows, people purposely try to make it so you can’t get home.  I’m terrified that when I leave in the morning, I won’t be able to find a place to park.  I will be forced to stop in the middle of the street and dig out a spot while holding up traffic.  I’m not sure why I have this fear, perhaps it’s the embarrassment that I can I feel just thinking of holding up others while I try to get home. f418bb-20110221-digging-out-the-car

Something I’m Thankful for: I’m very thankful for my neighbors today.  I was not feeling well yesterday while the area had a decent size snow storm.  I waited all day to dig my car out, and when I went out side, they were already digging it out for me.  Upon hearing I wasn’t feeling well, they sent me back in side while they finished working.

Embarrassing Moment: When do I not have embarrassing moments?  lol.  I’m the biggest klutz eve. Recently I was at work, and while squatting, I caught my pants on the corner of a counter.  Next thing I heard was a huge ripping sound.  I ripped the back of my pants and there was a good 4 inch gap.  Luckily, it was not up the butt, but rather around my one thigh.  I ended up walking the office with the back of my leg hanging out.  That’s a thing now right?  Total fashion statement, right? Don’t people buy their clothes this way?

buffy%20the%20vampire%20slayer%2011Loves: I’m loving binging 90’s to early 2000’s shows on Netflix.  Lately, I’ve been binging Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I’m loving it just as much as I did when I was a teen.  It’s so much fun to watch and I definitely feel a bit old when I see how young the actors look.

  1. That is so sweet of your neighbors to help you with the snow. I used to live in New Jersey and it is SUCH a pain and procrastinating only makes it worse!

  2. Neat idea to crack an egg underwater! This video captured my attention for a few minutes – it is mesmerizing! I used to watch a lot of underwater videos, maybe I was a mermaid in my previous life, I dunno.
