10-05-16 What I’m Looking Forward To at NY Comic Con

Tomorrow is the state of New York Comic Con, and I can’t wait!  I was lucky enough to get passes and really enjoy the event.  There’s always so much to see and do.  It’s like Disneyland of all things geek, nerd and pop culture rolled into one.   No matter what you love, there is something for everyone.

When it first started, the NYCC wasn’t anything that I was excited for, but over the course of the last few years, it has grown to an alarming size.  The celebrity guests have been top notch.  This year, I’m looking forward to seeing…

Seriously…Milla’s hair is always amazing!!

Alex Kingston – the one and only River Song from Doctor Who

Christopher Meloni – Elliot Stabler from Law and Order: SVU

Eric Kripke – Writer and showrunner for Supernatural

Jenna Coleman – Clara from Doctor Who

Oh Doctor, my Doctor (Karen was always supposed to appear but backed out)

John Krasinski – Jim from the Office

Kate Beckensale – (Do I really need to add this?)

Keanu Reeves – (Again…do I need a description here)

Matt Smith – The 11th Doctor from Doctor Who

Milla Jovovich – Alice from Resident Evil (FYI…LOVE HER!!! She’s my hair icon along with Ginnifer Goodwin)

Neil deGrasse Tyson – the host of Star Talk and the head of the planetarium at the Museum of Natural History

Norman Reedus – Again…is a description necessary?

I don’t normally attend panels since the lines can be long, and there’s so much to see on the floor. This year, there appears to be several good ones though that I need to make it to.

Neil deGrasse Tyson – he’s seriously the coolest

Nat Geo’s StarTalk panel with Neil deGrasse Tyson – I’ve been listening to the StarTalk podcast for months now, and I love it. I really hope to be able to sit in on a live session.

Tales from the Tardis – I don’t think I’m going to make this one but I really hope I can.  Matt Smith, Alex Kingston and Jenna Coleman will be discussing their time and stories in the Doctor Who universe.  I’m working all morning so I don’t know if I’ll make the cut. I’m sure it will be packed.

Eleven is just too awesome.

The Exorcist – If I have the courage, I’m hoping to attend.  This is the one movie that scarred me as a child, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to handle the TV show.

Inside the Upside Down – Eleven and the sheriff are hosting this one, and I’d love to be able to sit in.

Cosplay and Merch

This is honestly my FAVORITE part of comic con.  I won’t be able to dress up since I’m working for half the day, but I love seeing everyone else dressed up.  Last year, I got to meet one of my childhood heros, Captain Planet .  This year who knows who I’ll meet!!!

  2. It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun! I’d love to go to any convention. The closest ones to me are Dragoncon, Kami Con, and Magic City Con. The last two are actually in my state of Alabama. I love dressing up! The closest thing I have gotten to this is a medieval festival I went to this year and I dressed up for it! I was very excited.
